Fake Dosas

Real Dosa's are fantastic. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough to spread the batter right but here's a recipe if you want to try. If like me you can manage crepes but not dosas, here's a hybrid between a dosa and a crepe.

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/4 cup urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek
  • 1/4 tsp asafetida
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup garbanzo flour
  • 3 cups milk

Directions:

Combine yolks and salt, alternately. Grind up the urad dal and fenugreek in a spice/coffee grinder. Add to the eggs. Add asafetida. Add rice and garbanzo flours alternating with the milk. Add egg whites. Use about 1/4 cup batter and spread in a nonstick skillet. Cook for approximately 1 minute on the first side, flip and cook another 30 seconds.


Note for Yanthor's house: I used the front right burner set to one tick higher than medium.
